Physiotherapy uses a variety of techniques to help your muscles and joints work to their full potential. It can help repair damaged tissue, speed up the healing process, reduce pain and stiffness, and improve function. Physiotherapists also have an important role in rehabilitation following surgery or general deconditioning.

However, physiotherapists don’t just offer treatment; their advice can help you prevent problems from recurring or even from happening in the first place.

Essentially our approach is a 4 step way of dealing with your pain:
1. Assessment
2. Plan
3. Treatment
4. Re-Assessment

Before any action is taken, your physiotherapist will thoroughly assess your condition, diagnose the problem, and help you understand what’s wrong. Not all symptoms are musculoskeletal in nature though, thus our screening will be thorough to ensure you are suited to their treatment.

The physiotherapist will work with you to develop a treatment plan that takes into account your lifestyle, leisure activities, and general health. This will include advice on how you can help yourself; for example, you may be shown exercises and relieving self-management techniques that you can do between treatment sessions.

Following treatment you will be re-assessed to ensure we are on the right track. Some gains will be immediate, others, more delayed relative to the advice and education you are given.
